I started this blog , as an online training journal in May 0f 2008 . It quickly morphed into a bit more of a journal of my life here in central Alberta. As It grew and I began to write more and more, my old love of -poetry was reawakened and I also learned I find a great amount of joy in photography .
In 2009 I produced our very first Fern Valley Appaloosas Calender , a collection of photos taken throughout the year . I was pleasantly surprised at how well received it was , and found the original order of 15 calenders fell far short of the demand!
2010 , I produced another Fern Valley Appaloosas calender ,which was also very well received. In addition I produced a smaller amount of calenders with photos of my beloved Golden Retriever Winston, titled "The wonderful world of Winston ,and friends" He was a huge hit!
In addition 2010 brought about the awakening of my muse , and I began to write poetry again in earnest . With the continued support of my family friends and blogging family I took the plunge and had a book of my poetry and photos published in the spring of 2011!
In late July of this year , I sadly became the focus of an online hacker.This individual first attempted to access funds of mine through a pay pal account , and when I was able to block that activity ,they maliciously attacked and deleted my entire blog . Some frustration, some tears ,and a steep learning curve later ,I was able to regain access to the blog, but the posts and comments seemed lost to me .
With the help of some blogging buddies , and some friends and family ,I have been able to access most of the 525 posts that were previously posted, sadly though the comments have been lost forever .
This explains the blog as it looks now . After I recovered what I could ,I have re posted them in a monthly format instead of post by post . The new posts since July 29,2011 are back to the individual format , but any previous posts , as I said have been recovered without comments.
I am saddened by the fact that a total stranger could be that malicious, but heartened by the huge wave of support I received fro fellow bloggers family and friends . Thank you to all!
My mother always said "the best revenge is living well." SO live well I will , and continue posting , writing and taking my photos !
I began early on ending each post with "Stay safe " , and will end this entry the same .
