Welcome to Fern Valley

Here in central Alberta prime farm country,my husband Martin and I work together raising beef cattle and Appaloosa horses. Fern valley appaloosas have long been known for their quality of temperament conformation and color.I have recently rediscovered a love of writing and have published 2 collections of poetry. "Telling Tails" and Tails Trails and Campfire stories" . I look forward to a future spreading my wings as an author and as a horse woman .

Thankful

I laughingly called this  weekend  "The Great Canadian Turkey Binge of 2012"
And it is that, but it is also our Canadian Thanksgiving.
So todays post is about that , Thanks.
I am thankful for my loving husband,& family

Not all are shown here, but all I hope know ,just exactly how much I love them.
For my wonderful friends , near and far, those who I have known forever, the newfound ones , some who have returned to my life, and those who I have yet to meet face to face , but have come to know and love through the magic of technology. You are all such an incredible support and joy to me.

I am thankful to be living a good  life here at Fern Valley , being on the farm and privileged to have such wonderful critters to nurture and love

My faithful companions, even though Skeeter wishes he could "call shotgun" now and then

Winters feed and tractor with a cab for when winters bite begins
And ample groceries for all

And  just living in an area of such simple beauty
Life is good, and I am thankful.
Stay safe

You have many things to be thankful for. :)

And I have to say once again how much I adore Winston. That photo is really funny, poor Skeeter on the floor while Winston RULES!!

I really would love to have another dog someday, although I don't see it happening any time soon if at all/

We are indeed blessed aren't we? I'm thankful for pretty much the same things.... just a little tractor envy though! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Thanks Ami, and if Winston met you he would love you too. I understand the hesitation to get another dog esp after losing your sweet girl such a short time ago. They fill such a huge part of our hearts don't they?
Shirley, I am not bragging but it sure is nice to be out of the wind in that cab! Having had the open cab thing I know it seems the cold blows right through you.
Thanks Crystal , I was at the grocery store and walked out and saw that had to snap a shot it was so pretty

Gorgeous shots as always. A bit of tractor envy here too- what girl doesn't appreciate a good tractor? Lol and I guess I had better start thinking about Thanksgiving too. Ours is coming up next month...

I am thankful to be back on line after my harddrive crashed and ate everything. Adding stuff back on is a long, slow process. I am thankful to live here where the seasons change....for the better after a summer of no rain and triple digit temps. I am thankful for the internet that has connected me to so many wonderful people and their lives.
