Welcome to Fern Valley

Here in central Alberta prime farm country,my husband Martin and I work together raising beef cattle and Appaloosa horses. Fern valley appaloosas have long been known for their quality of temperament conformation and color.I have recently rediscovered a love of writing and have published 2 collections of poetry. "Telling Tails" and Tails Trails and Campfire stories" . I look forward to a future spreading my wings as an author and as a horse woman .

First snow

We have beaten records here this year for our lack of snow(funny last year we beat records for the opposite ! .But finally  today  we awoke to our first snow . It is a lovely warm day so it is hard to say whether or not it will stay , but it is here now so ...

It seems the only one truly happy about the snow is Winston . He has been rolling and playing like a pup all day . Skeeter is out there when he has to be ,but his reaction is a little bit more like Tommy Toes

Miggy will be happy she loves playing in the snow. Have a wonderful evening.

I love watching cats in the snow. It's hard to keep four feet 'shooked' off at the same time.

LOLO, first snow, for kittehs. Glad Winston's diggin' it. He can keep it, thankyouverymuch. I'm with Skeeter on this. He & Blaze are kindreds, she hates getting her feet wet! Flip likes everything, and if it's muddy, perfect!

We just had our first too! Looks about the same amount, a few inches of wet stuff. It's cold and windy here though. I love that beautiful orange/white long haired cat!

Hearing you say it was a lovely, warm day takes the Brrr...out of the equation so it's pretty.
