Welcome to Fern Valley

Here in central Alberta prime farm country,my husband Martin and I work together raising beef cattle and Appaloosa horses. Fern valley appaloosas have long been known for their quality of temperament conformation and color.I have recently rediscovered a love of writing and have published 2 collections of poetry. "Telling Tails" and Tails Trails and Campfire stories" . I look forward to a future spreading my wings as an author and as a horse woman .

April Fools

The wind it blows
in a foot of snow
when yesterday was sunny
Its not too cold,
but its getting old,
No one thinks its funny
Mother Nature has a  rotten streak
no longer is it a rumor
On April fools she shows it true
her twisted sense of humor!

My weak attempt at spinning straw into gold, or at least something cleaner!
Stay safe

Yeah, that's not fun weather at this point in the season - but someone looks like he's curiously content!

You look like you have the same combination of weather as we do. It's melting like there's no tomorrow what with all the rain snow mix we are getting. Love... Love... Love...the poem it couldn't get any truer. Now that is one dirty boy...betcha he had fun getting like that:)

That last photo is cute. But I was hoping you were telling is an April Fools joke and that your weather was really quite warm and beautiful instead of snowy and cold.

Here we've got sunshine, blue cloudless skies, 73F and gusting wind up to 40mph. It feels so dry here. Everything is dusty and brown. We could sure use that moisture. It's calling for 40% chance of rain tomorrow...crossing fingers!

I didn't realize it was April Fool's. Glad no one here has decided I should be tricked today. Not sure I'm up to it.

There was talk Mother Nature might pull the same kind of stunt on us this weekend but no white stuff yet. The wind is angry enough to blow me off my feet but at least it's not icy.

I think the last pic is definitely my idea of gold.

Oh my word I do love that last photo ....very cute. Looks like butter wouldn't melt in its mouth!!!. Sorry to hear about your yuk weather. We have had a freak hot day here. Probably the hottest. The crazy thing is it is the second month of Autumn. I'm sure the world is confused on the weather front. Stay warm and prayers for sun sent your way

Ma Nature sure does have a wicked sense of humor. It has been in the 90's, add in some wind (not breezy but all out windy), then the temps are to drop back down into the 70's before coming back with a vengance and we hit the season of full blown Hell, head on for several months. I am not looking forward to it. Can anyone tell? Does it show?

Now, that's just plain mean, mother nature.

That is kind of cruel, but Mother nature has a sense of humor too :)
