Welcome to Fern Valley

Here in central Alberta prime farm country,my husband Martin and I work together raising beef cattle and Appaloosa horses. Fern valley appaloosas have long been known for their quality of temperament conformation and color.I have recently rediscovered a love of writing and have published 2 collections of poetry. "Telling Tails" and Tails Trails and Campfire stories" . I look forward to a future spreading my wings as an author and as a horse woman .

Picture perfect ?

Well maybe not perfect but pictures all the same.
Martin and I have been keeping busy of late, not so much accomplishing lots but we do seem to be finding things to do.Started the month with a trip to Calgary to celebrate Martin's brothers Birthday/anniversary

June was a little of this and that, dealing with leaks from the rain, and finishing up with the calving, getting everyone out on green grass.and I finally planted some flowers.

My roses are truly outdoing themselves this year, giving me beautiful displays and lightly scenting the breeze that drifts in my windows through the days

Martin and I have been keeping busy of late, not so much accomplishing lots but we do seem to be finding things to do.
We attended a concert at Lake Wabamun when Henry got to meet one of his fans, local radio host.He was a good boy and very enthusiastic!
Bathing in his dipping pool before heading out!

After that out to dinner to celebrate my nephews birthday. Such a handsome "little guy"

Then we took a little trip...
Out first venture out with our little motor home, or should I call it adventure?

A little hiccup on the way but we got it fixed and had a lovely couple of days at Lac La Biche with friends.Henry got his firsat swim in big water and he did very well!
Then home to start with the haying... if the rain will quit!
Funny we were crying for rain so the hay would grow,(which it did! A bountiful crop too!) now we are praying for it to stop so we can get it cut and baled!
Also celebrated my cousin's 40th birthday this weekend with an Eighties themed celebration!
My fashion from the eighties wasn't a whole lot different than now, jeans and a t shirt pretty much summed it up, except for the bigger hair!

thats all for now.Stay safe!

Oh, it all sounds like life being enjoyed! And that's what matters. You look good and you look happy. Flowers are beautiful, dogs look well-pleased with everything and lots of events and chores to keep you busy. Hope the rain lets up so you can get that hay crop inside where it belongs! We got ours in and done early again this year and it feels good not to have to worry. Love the updates on everything.

You look skinny. What's your secret?
Yeah, I know. There IS no secret.

Henry is so big now.
And I'm so glad you posted. I think about you often. Wonder how you're doing.
