Welcome to Fern Valley

Here in central Alberta prime farm country,my husband Martin and I work together raising beef cattle and Appaloosa horses. Fern valley appaloosas have long been known for their quality of temperament conformation and color.I have recently rediscovered a love of writing and have published 2 collections of poetry. "Telling Tails" and Tails Trails and Campfire stories" . I look forward to a future spreading my wings as an author and as a horse woman .

Fur,frost fun, family, and a special project

February 1 already! Spring will be here... well when it gets here. Meanwhile here is what I have been up to,

 Hanging with Henry
 And some adorable kittens

And of course Johnny, all the rest too but he gets to be the face of the crew this post
And family of my heart, Cindy and her kids, she is not my actual sister but a sister of my heart all the same, and I am ever so proud that these wonderful kids know me as Auntie!

And the special project, made with love for my niece Tara, by ME!
Because...
well I think the photo shoot she and I had tells the story best!

The little peanut that I met and fell hopelessly in love with the day my sister gave birth to her is soon to be mommy to a peanut of her own! I wrote this the day Tara told me,

I cried the day I met you
And heard your tiny cry
The day I became your
Auntie
I knew one day you would fly
And fly you did my beauty
Took on life full force
Not one to just go with the flow
you mapped your very own course
Time has passed so quickly
Truly it has flown
And here you are just starting a family of your own
What wonderful days ahead for you
A time of joy and glory
I want to say how proud I am
And blessed to share in your story

And then just last month dug out my crochet hook to make the bunting bag for her

That's beautiful handiwork ya did there. I tried to crochet once. Could. Not. Manage. It. I couldn't even get started, so I bow to those of you who can.

Congrats to the soon to be mom. Congrats to you being a Great Aunt!
