Welcome to Fern Valley

Here in central Alberta prime farm country,my husband Martin and I work together raising beef cattle and Appaloosa horses. Fern valley appaloosas have long been known for their quality of temperament conformation and color.I have recently rediscovered a love of writing and have published 2 collections of poetry. "Telling Tails" and Tails Trails and Campfire stories" . I look forward to a future spreading my wings as an author and as a horse woman .

If you are tired of the rain, please send it our way! After being in a drought, we finally got around 3" over a four day spread. There is something about rain water that can't be replaced. It sure does make things grow! Perked our fields (and flower beds) back up. They were dormant so long, we were not sure if the hay fields would even come back. We do have to replant a couple that were reseeded in Spring. At least not all was lost. There is hope for a late second crop, if we get more rain :)

Cally and especially Babe are so cute!! Not sure I remember the white horse. Hmmm? Maybe.
