Welcome to Fern Valley

Here in central Alberta prime farm country,my husband Martin and I work together raising beef cattle and Appaloosa horses. Fern valley appaloosas have long been known for their quality of temperament conformation and color.I have recently rediscovered a love of writing and have published 2 collections of poetry. "Telling Tails" and Tails Trails and Campfire stories" . I look forward to a future spreading my wings as an author and as a horse woman .

Foaling contest #3 Fern Valleys Jazz

Now  Jazzy is  not  supposed to be due till a bit later , her  breeding  date was again 1 single breeding on July 22 ,but looking at her today  I got  to thinking I better post it sooner than later. Richie was  bred first and is  not there yet either  but they will do  what they will do so...

Fern Valley's Jazz , "Jazzy" is bred  back to Windwalker  Cactus , Jazzy is a second  generation  Fern Valley Appaloosa, daughter of Chips (Chile Poivre ) and C7 Sparks Jewel (both  can  be  found  on the honorable mentions  page ) Jazzy is a special  girl, and she  is a wonderful  producer! Her  foals so  far  (all sired  by Cactus )  are;

FV Jazz Time

FV Sparks Image

And  FV  Dandy Line

As I said  she  has  more than  proven herself . All of these  foals  have  been  easy to love, gorgeous and good minded , and each are  succeeding with their  new  owners.
Contest is the same, choose  date, sex, and color ! Good Luck and stay safe

I am going with either June 29th or 30th, both birthdays of friends of mine. Still want a filly for you, but it seems to be the year of the boys around here so I will go with a colt and color could be anybodys guess but it will be sure to please however it happens.

Seems like we were just doing this for both Maggie and Dandy. Dang how time flies!

They are all so gorgeous! June 25th, little filly, big blanket.
Isn't it fun having Appys where you just never know what colors you're going to get?

They are all so lovely! I have a heck of a time guessing Appy colors.... let's see, June 24th, chestnut with blanket, filly!

What a wonderful mother to produce all those beautiful babies .....and I did love Dandy ever so much. I'll say filly, pale chestnut with white blanket on the 28th June
I hope the warmth of summer is allowing you long balmy nights to sit and admire those horses
