Welcome to Fern Valley

Here in central Alberta prime farm country,my husband Martin and I work together raising beef cattle and Appaloosa horses. Fern valley appaloosas have long been known for their quality of temperament conformation and color.I have recently rediscovered a love of writing and have published 2 collections of poetry. "Telling Tails" and Tails Trails and Campfire stories" . I look forward to a future spreading my wings as an author and as a horse woman .

There's a new kid in town

I have to  go check the contest entries to see who  won the pool but  for now I would say I won BIG TIME because I got to meet  this  fellow this morning!!!!

Get  ready for  the  deluge of baby  pics folks!
Now I have to figure out  what to name this  handsome  brute, before his  brothers or sisters arrive!
Stay safe all.

Looking at the contest entries , no one  guess this day ,Phaedra was closest so congrats, send  me an email   please!

She is definitely getting better with each foal, not that Cat and Comet were not nice foals, but boy this guy is something else. Great match up again.

Something starting with an S. If you look at the second to last pic- there in the markings on his shoulder is an S clear as day. See it? Or is my mind going weird on me?

How cool is that!

BTW- I'm out. I picked last Tuesday so one off the list of contenders
