Welcome to Fern Valley

Here in central Alberta prime farm country,my husband Martin and I work together raising beef cattle and Appaloosa horses. Fern valley appaloosas have long been known for their quality of temperament conformation and color.I have recently rediscovered a love of writing and have published 2 collections of poetry. "Telling Tails" and Tails Trails and Campfire stories" . I look forward to a future spreading my wings as an author and as a horse woman .

Fur, fun, and family

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend Thought I would give you a few updated pics of the kittens

Had our yearly family BBQ this weekend
Getting ready
Kids , cats and dogs , seemed to be the theme!

Went very well, Crab legs BBQ beef , shrimp, potato salad , Ceasar salad .The works.
Not everyone was able  to attend this year, but we sure enjoyed the ones that came .
Had a last minute panic, as my sister ,who always remembers to make a yummy dessert was on holidays , but a quick call to SIL Cheryl , fixed it . It wasn't Heathers famous rhubarb crisp , but it was yummy stuff all the same!
Hoping to add more pics if my niece Rene will send them , got some great ones of Abby petting Quinn!
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
And as always ,stay safe

A lovely family weekend. Looks like the kittens were a big hit. Who is taking the one I like? (Photo two and three)

Shirley, the kitten you really like, is alos the one I really like. I had a calico as a child, so I am thinking Miss Callie might be one that stays

Ooops! Somehow I missed this one. The calico is a cutie and I am not a cat person.

Good food, good fun, what's not to love?
