Welcome to Fern Valley

Here in central Alberta prime farm country,my husband Martin and I work together raising beef cattle and Appaloosa horses. Fern valley appaloosas have long been known for their quality of temperament conformation and color.I have recently rediscovered a love of writing and have published 2 collections of poetry. "Telling Tails" and Tails Trails and Campfire stories" . I look forward to a future spreading my wings as an author and as a horse woman .

Walk with me

We had a light snowfall last night , followed by a bright beautiful day
So after church , I grabbed my camera , to go for a walk!, are you coming?

The Phoenix looking regal in the frost

walk a little further now

the cows , waiting for feeding time
Cactus , wanders up to say hello
the right lighting , can even make livestock equipment pretty

note to self ,do not take a picture of a woodpecker while he is busy, you wind up with a creepy shot of a headless woodpecker!

Skeeter seeking something?

 The ever handsome Winston
deep in thought

Hi GL! hugs and snuggles from Johnnie Handsome!

Looking pretty good for an old fellow(Stryker 22 years young this year)

Wilder(Mr low key quiet guy )

Another cute overload from the blonds

a quick stop with Tommy Toes and my miniature Aslan

then back to the house for coffee and Baileys , you coming?
other than that , got the baking caught up for now , and the house is all decorated. Just have one or two last minute things to pick up. The wrap presents , make cabbage rolls, and Cinnamon  buns , and I am ready for Santa!

Stay safe and warm

Beautiful, as usual, FV. Those blonde boys need a calendar all their own, LOVE those oh so innocent (haha!) faces..

Stryker is channeling Sean Connery there, quiet, handsome, accent.

One more loving gaze at Johnnie before bed!

THANK you!
sigh...
Johnnie groupie out.

Love the pic of Cactus in the birch trees! And the blondes - cute! Thanks for taking us along on that walk - wonder if that snow is headed the Minnesota way? No snow here - it will be a brown Christmas.

Oh goodness... that's not a light snowfall compared to down here in Missouri :) That looks like what we usually get as "heavy" lol :)

Oh I'm sorry. You wanted me to come with you....for a walk in the snow?
Thanks but I'm a little tired of snow at the moment.

I was back at your house snuggling with Winston, sipping Baileys and coffee and nibbling cinnamon buns.

I hope you enjoyed the walk though. Come on back inside and get warm ok?
