I am betting on this little lady!!!
Welcome
FV Casino Quest!!
"Casey"
2013 Filly out of my wonderful "Richie mare" Get Rich Quick and by Windwalker Cactus
Winner of the "eagle eye" contest is my own sister Heather!who was first to see baby! As for the blog contest winner it is Prairie Ridge Performance horses! pretty sure I have your email, but just in case, please email me here .
her name, a spin on the gambling theme "Get Rich Quick" who's race record speaks for her , and For Cactus descended of "Top Quest " a little nod to her heritage .
Mamma and baby are doing well and Richie even at 19 years young looks fresh as a daisy, and practically ready to hit the track where she made her name so many years ago.
This will very likely be the last time I breed this good mare, she has more than done here time, and owes me nothing, and I would rather watch her grow old and be a granny to the foals of the up and comers than push my luck. Besides with Fern Valley's Phoenix (son of Chips and Richie ) and this little lady I have these genetics pretty much locked down. and yes, that is what it sounds like, little Miss Casey , will be staying here,to join the ranks of other Fern Valley lifers!
Also again on this beautiful sunny day that I have been so blessed , please if you will join us all in our prayers for those who are affected by the flooding here in Alberta , and BC, and all those affected by disaster. natural and otherwise in our world.
And as always my friends, stay safe

She is a sweetie all right. The last picture on the post is gorgeous. You really have your work cut out for you with the calendar this year. Thanks little Casey for bringing the sunshine at least to these northern parts anyway. See you little one in a week.
You always come up with the best names!!
She's a beauty, as they all are.
Another wonderful little one - lots of flash!

Congratulations on another spectacular baby!! Glad the sun came out for her.
Gorgeous little foal to carry on the line. Beautiful job , big pat on the neck for the mare, and the stallion for that matter! Of course huge kudos for you , that had the foresight to bring this line foward. Congratulations all the way around lol
OMG look at that chrome! :O) She is a keeper!!
Yep- she done it again! Very nice foal!
Well, I guess that answers that question...Was wondering if this one was for sale. With her momma's record, she should r.u.n. ;-)
Didn't know if you knew this or not, but Shooter's mother was 24 when she had him. We've actually had many mares that produced babies at 22-23 years old. It's all about the care those lovely, older momma's get. As good of care as you take of your horses, I don't see any reason That Richie Mare couldn't give you another baby or two...if you so desire.
Dang lady, she's a cutie! May not be a lotta chome on the backside, but she sure has plenty up front and underneath. Love the name!
Like BEC's said, some mares can produce well on in years under good care, but I understand your decision to let her go out on top. I always worry at foaling time about losing the mares. The foals you dont know yet- the mares, you have history together.
I have a ton of respect for conscientious breeders. Ones who breed for the full package, who care about their mares, care where their foals end up, and make sure they come in to the world learning to be good citizens. You are obviously one of those breeders and my hat is off to you!
She is a real cutie, and I love the play on names.
Sorry about the multiple posts. I have no idea what happened.
Oh I love the names you pick! So creative, and I can see why you would want to keep her, she is pretty nice, congrats on her :)
nice blanket. She's sure a cutie!
